In june 14, the well known performance artist Anna Berndtson presented a political statement through her work Melt at the Museum of Art in Uppsala.
But did the performance really take place, or rather, was it unheard of in the scandalous sense that is the hallmark of a good piece of performance Art? How did the work contribute to the general theme of the Friction II festival? Or, from another point of view, how did the work contribute to the discussion of global warming?
In order to address these questions it seems necessary to twist interpretation beyond the work as superficial Art World event, and to involve the spectator as well as the artist in the choreographic intention of the Festival.
